Common Colors- Most shades of blue from light to fairly dark (dark is rarer), blue green
Hardness- 7.5 - 8
Special Care- Some stones can fade with prolonged exposure to sunlight. Aqua is a hard stone but it can sometimes be brittle
Mystical Healing Properties- Latin for "water of the sea", aquamarine has been worn by sailors for years to alleviate phobias and fears of the ocean, some believe it can save a person from choking or drowning. Also thought to make the wearer more tolerant of others, inspire peace, inspire love in married couples, and increase ones ability to make friends. Aquamarine is also thought to help with ailments of the lungs, liver, neck, jaw, teeth, stomach, ears, and the reduction of fluid retention.
