Electrum

Colors -  Metallic yellow, similar to gold but not as bright

 

Melting Point -  Varies due to differing percentages of the metals

in the various alloys

 

Alloy composition's - Alloy of gold, silver, copper

and other trace elements

 

Most commonly used - Used as far back as 3000 BC by the Egyptians to cap the

very top stone of some pyramids.  It was used by the Greeks as far back as 300 BC

for coins.  Due to being an alloy it was much harder than pure gold and made a much

more durable coin.  Electrum has been used as various types of jewelry, statues and other

ornaments for much of human history.  In recent history it has fallen somewhat out of

fashion.

 

Types of -  Various types of Electrum have been made through the ages with various

percentages of gold from around 40% gold to around 70%.  It also occurs in nature.
