Special Care- When cut or scratched Hematite leaves a red streak due to its very high iron contents. It is also slightly attracted to magnets.
Mystical Healing Properties- Originally only used as mourning jewelry (mourning the dead) Hematite is thought to be a very mystically powerful stone. In Greek Hematite means "Blood" due to it seeming to be full of a red substance. Hematite is used for almost all blood disorders, namely hemophilia and anemia. It is also used in modern times to help lessen the effects of jet lag and insomnia. Hematite is also believe to calm the wearer and increase mental concentration.
