Kunzite Commonly Found- Malagasy Republic, California, Maine, Brazil, Burma
Common Colors- Pink, purple, very pale pink or purple
Hardness- 6 -7
Special Care- Excessive exposure to ultraviolet light can fade the pink color from kunzite, therefore kunzite is not a good stone to put on display in a window.
Mystical Healing Properties- Kunzite was only discovered in 1902 and is considered a relatively "new" stone (is has, of course, actually been around for millions of years). Kunzite is thought to be a very powerful stone, especially when positioned over the heart. It is normally used to promote general healing throughout the body and to encourage love. It has also been used to absorb negative thought energies, some believe this absorption of negative energies is what causes the pink tint to sometimes fade over time.
