Common Colors- White, silver, black, blue, pink, green, can

be dyed any color

Special Care- Mother of pearl comes from the shell of oysters and is

the same material as pearls. It is porous and very chemically sensitive.

Some acids will give it a dull luster (vinegar for example) and it is a

relatively soft material.

Mystical Healing Properties- Round discs of mother of pearl used to be used

as currency in various parts of the world and it has long been associated with

with money, riches, and wealth. As mother of pearl surrounds the interior of

an oyster it is thought to be a protective gemstone. Mother of pearl is believed

to encourage creative thought and to relax the wearer. People with digestive

problems will often carry a piece of mother of pearl in their pockets.
