Commonly Found- Argentina, Colorado, Mexico, Canada, South Africa

Common Colors- Light red, dark pink, pink

all with white stripes of some kind

Hardness- 4

Special Care- Rhodochrosite contains the mineral manganese and,

while safe to wear in jewelry, should only be cut or carved by a

professional or individual with a wet grinding stone and good dust

or gas mask. It is also a fairly soft stone and should not be worn as

everyday jewelry.

Mystical Healing Properties- Historically Rhodochrosite has been associated

with love and relationships, most likely due to its pink and red qualities. It is

a stone that is believed to promote truth telling by the wearer. Physically

Rhodochrosite is thought to heal the heart, thyroid, lower blood pressure and

heal skin ailments.
