Sodalite Commonly Found- Brazil, Ontario Canada, India, Namibia, and some parts of the United States
Common Colors- Light to dark blue with white calcite streaks or blotches
Hardness- 5.5 - 6
Special Care- Sodalite is more often used in statues and figurines but it can safely be worn as jewelry. Most often in chunky style beads but it can be carved for rings and pendants.
Mystical Healing Properties- Sodalite is believed to resist most types of radiation, especially X-ray, and is thought to be helpful in warding off the negative effects of chemotherapy. When worn as jewelry Sodalite is thought to ward off danger to the wearer.
